Pumpkin Patch Plaid

Can y’all believe tomorrow is Halloween? It’s literally going to be November on Thursday! Like whaaa?!?
Anyway, today I’m sharing another look from the pumpkin patch. Like I said last Thursday we were bad puppy parents and didn’t take Ramsey the first time, so we had to make a second trip. I was not mad about it because I love going to the pumpkin patch. (Ramsey did too!! He met lots of new friends per usual. hah) It was actually on the cooler side this past weekend so I finally got to break out these boots I bought back during the Nsale. I mean I could have worn them sooner but people would have thought I was a crazy person.  I paired them with this cute plaid dress that I got from Old Navy a few weeks ago. (I bought it when I got this plaid shirt and another plaid shirt as well. I was all about the plaid that day.) The length is perfect and it’s such an easy silhouette. It’s perfect with OTK boots but will look equally as good with some ankle booties. I hope you guys like it because I will be wearing it non-stop!

What’s everyone’s plan for Halloween tomorrow? We will probably just hang at the house, cook some dinner, light some fall candles and watch Hocus Pocus. Whatever you do, I hope you have a safe and fun holiday!

Pumpkin Patching

Happy Thursday!
I am BEYOND happy tomorrow is Friday. It’s my busy season at work and this week has been a doozy!
I wanted to share this super cute fall look I wore last weekend when we went to the pumpkin patch. (Although I have to admit we were really bad dog parents and didn’t take Ramsey with us. #fail Needless to say we will be going back to the pumpkin patch this weekend with Ramsey in tow. I’m not complaining because I love fall and it will give me an excuse to shoot another great fall look!)
I’ve had these wine pants for a few years now and I love breaking them out in October & November. Typically I pair them with a cream top, but when I saw this plaid while shopping at Old Navy a few weeks ago I knew it would match perfectly! The top is tunic length, which is great for leggings or jeans or even tying it in the front like I did. Did I mention it comes in a few color ways? I plan on getting the gray next because #neutrals lol

Top: Old Navy | Jeans: Old Navy | Booties: Vince Camuto old (similar here) | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Necklace: Amazon | Lipstick: bareMinerals  Gen Nude Patent Liquid Lipstick in Everything
What are your plans this weekend? Have you been to the pumpkin patch yet? We have to get 1 more pumpkin and will probably carve them on Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great Halloween weekend!

San Diego: Outfit 1

Hi friends!
Getting this post up a little later than I would like, but hey, better late than never right? Today I’m sharing my outfit from the first day we were in California.
We got in really late on Wednesday night and Thursday we had half the day to explore downtown San Diego before we had to head to La Jolla. I knew I wanted to be comfortable since we would be doing a lot of walking so I figured tennis shoes were a must! These New Balance are my favorites. Not only is the light pink color so cute and girly, but also they are really comfortable. I feel like New Balance gets a bad rap of being grandpa shoes, but I must say they have definitely stepped their game up recently. They are so many cute/trendy styles that I want.
I wore my favorite Nordstrom dress because it’s cute, comfortable and not too short. Since it’s Cali I feel like you always need a light jacket. (The weather was PERFECTION while we were there. I’m sure you already know that if you follow me on instagram because I couldn’t stop talking about it!) My pearl denim jacket is from last year, but I’ve linked some similar ones below.

Dress: Nordstrom | Jacket: Old (similar herehere, & here) | Shoes: New Balance (similar fully in stock version here) | Purse: Phillip Lim (mini version at link. Larger version in different color that I love here) | Sunnies: Sonix | Lipstick: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick

This is my favorite type of outfit for exploring a new city. What do you like to wear when going out and about in a new place?

Life Update: 10/18

Hi friends.
You might have noticed I’ve been a little MIA here lately. (Ok…more than a little.) I haven’t posted a blog post in about 3 weeks and have been super sporadic about posting on IG. (Other than when I was in California.) To be honest, I’ve been feeling uninspired the past month or so. Things have been super busy at work, I’ve been exhausted and it’s still 100 degrees out and all I want to do is shoot fall content. All these things just left me feeling burnt out. Normally I would push myself to just post some type of content, but I thought taking a break would be better. I’m so glad I decided to give myself a break.  After a bit of a recharge in California I have tons of new ideas and content coming to the blog. There will be lots of style content but also some other stuff. I have a few Five on Friday’s planned (a little bit of a different layout than in the past), some Wedding Wednesday posts, a California travel diary and of course some gift guides as we head into the Holiday’s.
Suffering from burn out in this industry can be scary. Especially if you are still so small and trying your best to grow. I can’t tell you how many times over the last 3 weeks I thought “Just post something!! You are losing followers, potential collabs and so much more!!” However sometimes a break is what you need and it can lead to even better things. 😊

I hope this post gave you a little insight into why I haven’t been posting. I also hope it will help you make the decision to take a break from something if that’s what your body is telling you.

P.S. I was totally going to use different photos but these popped up when I opened my photo app and I just couldn't help myself!  How cute (and little) was Ramsey when he was like 3 months old??
