Beauty Review: Mascara

If I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life, it would probably be mascara. (Or lipstick. I love lipstick.) I have very blonde eyelashes so I never feel like a real person until I have mascara on. I have been trying a bunch of new ones lately so; I thought I would do a review of the 5 I’ve been using lately. I always use black, although brown would probably look a little more natural on me but oh well.
I LOVE this stuff. The name says it all. My lashes look so full and thick when I use this mascara. I use it pretty much every day, and I will add an extra coat when I’m going out on the town. This can leave your lashes a little clumpy if you’re not careful; but, again sometimes I like that look. I will definitely be buying the full size when my sample runs out!
If you’ve been following me for a while and have read some of my other beauty posts you know this is my go to mascara. I buy time and time again. I’ve literally been using this stuff since high school. It gives a great amount of volume, while not being too much and helps lengthen and separate. It’s also hypoallergenic so if you have any type of allergy this is the mascara I would recommend. It’s also a great price at $18.
This is great for a subtle everyday look. I definitely have to use a couple layers, because I do like my lashes to be bold. It does help really separate my lashes, which I like while giving them a little boost of volume. If you have thick dark lashes you could use a swipe of this and be good to go.
I have wanted to try this mascara for a long time and just never picked it up. I finally got a sample in my Play! Box a few months back and I am obsessed. It gives me so much volume and really separates my lashes. Sometimes I feel like volumizing mascara can leave your lashes kind of clumpy looking. (Sometimes I like that if it’s the look I’m going for.) I would have to say this is probably number one for me out of all the ones here.
I tried this one for a few months, and loved it so much I bought the full size. This one is great for adding length. I sweat when I use it my lashes touch my brow bone. My only complaint is lately I’ve noticed it’s been clumping on the brush. I usually just wipe it off however, it seems like a waste.
If I had to rank them in order it would be as follows:
1.    Clinique (because this is the one thing I’ve consistently stuck with. You will always find at least one tube in my makeup bag.)
2.    Marc Jacobs & Better than Sex
3.    It Cosmetics
4.    Bobbi Brown
What are your favorite mascaras? I would love to hear if you use any of these, or if you like something not on this list. I’m always open to trying new mascaras. (I just bought Lash Paradise to see how it compares to Better than Sex.)
Come back next week to see how I get all this mascara off. I’ll be reviewing 5 makeup removers I’m currently using! I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday y'all!
I wanted to get this post up at lunch, but I ended up in a meeting that ran WAYYY long. I am proud that I am getting this up on Friday instead of Saturday. (If you follow me on instagram you know I wrote this whole post and then I couldn't find it on my computer.)
Now that all of that is out of the way let's jump in to today's Five on Friday!

First, I want to talk about this new watch I received from Jord Watches. I love unique pieces and this watch definitely fits that category. Their watches are made out of wood and I must say they are all really beautiful and different. I went with the Zebrawood and Champagne face but they have so many beautiful watches to choose from. Another thing that sets them apart is you can get your watch engraved. This makes them a great gift option. Lastly if you have an Apple Watch and aren’t in the market for an entirely new watch they have Apple Watch Bands. (I might have to get one of those soon.) Now for the fun part… I’m currently running a giveaway for you to win your very own watch. The winner will receive $100 towards the watch of their choice plus free shipping. All you have to do is click here and fill out your name, email address and tell them which watch is your favorite.

You can also use code “fashionablylateblonde” for $25 off your purchase if you don’t want to wait for the giveaway to end.
2.   5 beauty products I love right now.

-L’Occitane Almond DeliciousHands. I received a sample of the Almond Milk Concentrate in one of my Play! Boxes and thought it would be great to use on my hands. I loved it so much I decided to buy the specific hand cream. I usually have pretty dry hands and this stuff has been amazing!
-Fresh Floral Toner. The girl that did my makeup this weekend used this on me and I loved it. First of all it smells amazing. Second it can be used before your makeup as a primer, after your makeup as a setting spray, or throughout the day to refresh. I was in the market for something to refresh my makeup mid-day or before HH after a long day of work and this stuff has worked well.
-Make Up For Ever Lipstickin Rose Wood. Y’all are honestly probably sick of seeing this lip color. I got it a few months back in my Play! Box and I’m obsessed. I love it layered with my NYX butter gloss in Praline but it’s also equally as gorgeous by itself.
-Too Faced Better than SexMascara. Lashes are one of my things. I love big bold lashes. (Probably because mine are blonde and you can’t see them.) It takes a lot of mascara for me to feel ready to walk out the door; so I am always testing new mascaras. I had wanted to try this one forever, and I’m so glad I finally did. It gives so much volume, but doesn’t leave your lashes spider like.
- It Cosmetics CC Cream. I love this stuff for summer. It’s got SPF 50, covers so well but is super lightweight. I picked up a new tube for summer the other day when they were giving you this brush as a gift with purchase. I usually use my beauty blender, but can’t wait to try the brush. You better believe I will be using this every single day in Mexico.
3.  New Favorite TV Show
I am obsessed with the new show The Resident on FOX.
I watch entirely too much TV. I literally watch almost every show on Bravo, This is Us, plus I committed the rest of my life to Grey’s Anatomy when I started season 1 episode 1 on Netflix a few months back but I decided why not add 1 more. Hah
It has Emily Van Camp (for you Revenge fans), Matt Czuchry (where are my Gilmore Girls fans?) and it’s about doctors so I was like COUNT ME IN! I also like it because it’s the one show J and I watch together that he doesn’t totally hate. If you haven’t started watching it I highly recommend checking it out. It comes on Mondays at 9pm on Fox. It’s been on a 2 week hiatus during the Olympics so I can’t wait for it to return.
4.    Need2Know
I think it’s extremely important to stay on top of what’s going on in the world. I also know it’s not the easiest thing to watch the news everyday. This is why I love Need2Know. It’s a daily email (Monday-Friday) sent straight to your inbox with 8-10 headlines of what’s going on. It has a little sentence or two about each thing and also a link to an article if you want to read more. I get it sent to my work inbox and spend the first 10 minutes of my day finding out about what’s going on in the world and then I feel educated and aware or things that are happening.
5.  5 things I’m craving for spring

-This pink and white stripe top from Madewell. I love the peplum hem and think it would be perfect with jeans, shorts, or skirts all spring/summer long.
-I’ve been seeing these fun high waist bikinis everywhere. The price tag is a little much but they are definitely cute.
-I have been seeing this style straw bag everywhere! It’s definitely not practical for every day use but would be perfect for a vacation or on weekends.
-These really fun earrings from BaubleBar. I found a similar pair a few months back and thought they were so funky and fun! J thought I was cray cray! Haha
-White jeans. I feel like you typically have to replace white denim often but I especially need to replace mine because having a puppy and wearing white jeans does not mix…at all!

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Mine will be pretty low key. Dinner with a friend tomorrow and brunch on Sunday to celebrate my Mom's b-day a few days early!
