Summer Friday: Cover-ups

Happy Friday!
For most of y’all, this is a three-day weekend, which makes it even better! (If you have Monday off just know I am EXTREMELY jealous!!)
Today for Summer Friday, I have rounded up some really fun cover-ups. In my opinion, your cover-up is just as important as the swimsuit you choose. I think different destinations/activities require different cover-ups, so I have some for the pool, the beach, the boat, and of course just exploring whatever fun summer location you are in.

What are everyone’s BIG plans for the weekend? I’m going to a baseball game tonight and I’m pretty excited. The rest of my weekend will be spent by a pool or on a boat and there is no place I’d rather be.
I hope y’all have a fun and safe weekend!

Summer Friday: Memorial Day

It’s finally Friday!
I’m so excited for the weekend friends, and I’m sure you are too.
This week for Summer Friday, I’m talking all about Memorial Day. From looking at this picture, you might think I’m way ahead of the game for Fourth of July but Memorial Day is another great holiday to break out your red, white, and blue. Now is also the best time to buy those red, white, and blue/flag print items because if you wait until late next month it will be slim pickings for sizes, prints, etc. I’ve rounded up some great items for next weekend whether you’re having a backyard BBQ, headed to the beach, pool or out on the boat.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
I’m headed to Jacksonville to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and there’s a really fun festival going on. Follow me on instagram for a closer look at my weekend. (username: thefashionablylateblonde)

April Glam Bag

Hey y’all!
Happy Tuesday.
Today I’m reviewing my April Glam Bag from Ipsy.
This month was overall a good one for me.
First off, I got another brush. If you’ve read my reviews before you know I love getting brushes because my brush game is seriously lacking. This month I got the Just Blending In Blending Brush from L.A.B 2 Live and Breath Beauty. It’s really soft and does its job perfectly!
My second favorite item in this bag was the Tarte Lipsurgence lip creme in Wonder. Y’all know I love my lip stuff (i.e. lipstick, stains, sometimes glosses, etc.) and this one is great. It packs a good amount of color and is really moisturizing.  The color is really pretty too. It’s not super bright and compliments my natural lip color really nicely.
The third item in this month’s bag was a concealer, and I will admit I was pretty skeptical. My first thought was a concealer could be really tricky, and coming in a monthly subscription just really scared me, but it surprisingly, it matched pretty well. I would say I’m blessed and cursed in the fact that I don’t have breakouts really (blessing) so the only place I use concealer is under my eyes because I have pretty bad dark circles (curse). The great cover up ultimate concealer by em cosmetics (in shade medium warm) is a little on the thicker side but blends perfectly with a beauty blender. This along with my new color correcting is perfecting for hiding my dark circles!
The fourth item I just recently tried because I thought it was regular lotion but was actually face lotion and I really like it. The Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream  by Ren Skincare is pretty great. It smells amazing and makes me feel like I’m at the spa. It is definitely a day cream meaning it’s not super hydrating. If you have dry skin, I would recommend using something else at night.
The last item I have not used. The Don't Despair, Repair! Gel-to-Oil Overnight Repair Treatment by Briogeo requires you to put it on at night and wash your hair in the morning. I am not a morning person so I RARELY wash my hair in the morning. If you try, it let me know what you think.

If you are thinking about a monthly subscription, I really recommend Ipsy.
Subscription boxes are a great way to try new products and learn about new brands. I also love that a few of my girlfriends get it so when we get things we don’t like or want we just switch. Another good idea is taking all the stuff you don’t want and give it to your mom or sister. (I’m keeping all my stuff in one of my bags and plan on giving it to my mom when I see her in a couple months.)

Summer Fridays: Swimwear

Happy Friday friends!
Today I want to kick off a new series called Summer Fridays.
Now I know what you’re thinking…it’s not summer yet but it will be soon and those pool days and trips to the beach will be here sooner then you think.
Each Friday I will be posting about something different, such as a trend, the perfect beach bag, what to pack in that perfect beach bag, and so much more.
I’m really excited about this and hope you are too.
To kick things off I thought I would start with swimsuits.
Everyone needs a great swimsuit at the start of summer. Below I’ve put together a bunch of different options to get you ready for those pool parties and beach vacations.

P.S. If there is anything specific, you would like for me to cover, just let me know and I will try to work it in.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo friends!
This dress is perfect for celebrating this holiday and that is exactly, what I wish I were doing.
I love the off the shoulder trend that has blown up this season. Whether it’s a shirt or a dress, you can sign this girl up! This dress is really great because it comes in a TON of colors and at only $25.00, you can grab yourself more than one. It’s also the perfect dress for any beach vacations you may have coming up. I know mine will definitely be making its way into my suitcase for my Jamaica trip next month. Here I’ve paired it with some simple shoes and earrings but I have my eye out for a bright multi color clutch that I think will just really make this perfect for summer. I’ll link some below along with some shoes I think would make this really fun since mine are from last summer and no longer available.
I hope y’all have a fantastic day and don’t forget to indulge in some tacos, tequila…, chips, guacamole, and queso. (Can you tell I LOVE me some Mexican food??)
