Makeup Monday: Melted

If you know me, you know I LOVE lipstick. My friends will be the first to tell you it’s a serious obsession, and I will be the first to agree with them.

Melted by Too Faced is one of my new favorites. My friend introduced me to them about 5 months ago and I have quickly acquired quite the collection. They are a little different from traditional lipsticks in that they come in a tube and the applicator is similar to a lip-gloss. Because of this, I admit I was a bit skeptical as to how long it would last.  However, I quickly saw they are extremely pigmented, dry similar to a stain, and stay on all day. I still like to use a lip liner under them as I think it gives all lipstick staying power and keeps them just on your lips.
Melted comes in two different types: regular melted and melted metal. The melted metal collection has sparkles in them and gives a bit more of a glossy finish.
If you haven’t tried these yet or want to try a new lipstick, I would highly suggest one of these!

Transitional Maxi Part II

Disclaimer: Wearing all white sneakers and a long maxi dress when there was a torrential downpour is really not the best combination. #oops
Anyway, while the colors of this outfit might not scream fall I do live in the south and this is another great way to transition a maxi dress from summer to fall. Tying a chambray shirt over a maxi dress is a great and casual way to make it more Fall appropriate. I kept this outfit really casual with high top sneakers and a small bag. This would be great for running errands, grabbing brunch, or even a really laid-back happy hour. If chambray isn’t your thing, I also love a plaid shirt tied over a solid maxi dress for another no fuss look.

Transitional Maxi

I don’t know about y’all, but usually when I think about maxi dresses I think about summer days and nights spent at the beach.
I love maxis and own a good amount. So I’m here to tell you they can totally transition to fall as well. My favorite way to make them more autumn appropriate is to throw on a Moto jacket, and some booties. (Personally I think throwing a leather jacket over anything makes it fall/winter appropriate but, hey maybe that’s just me.) This toughens up this otherwise summery/flirty dress. Another great option would be a denim jacket, and some brown wedges or booties. By choosing either of these options you get more use out of your summer clothing.
On Friday I’ll be back to show you another way I like to transition maxi dresses into fall.

Make-up Monday: August Ipsy Bag

Happy Monday!
On Monday’s I would like to talk about makeup; (or hair products, or nail polish, or face wash, or basically something beauty related). Today I’m going to review my August Ipsy bag. I’ll probably do a review on my bag each month if it’s something y’all would be interested in.

Now that all that is out of the way down to the review:
The first item in my bag was Batise dry shampoo. Obsession is an understatement. This one smells amazing (it’s the rose scent) and it really works. I spray it on in the morning, brush my hair and I’m good to go. Not to mention the price point is amazing!
The second item was HIKARI lip-gloss in merlot. I’m usually not a big lip-gloss person but I really like this one. I love the color and it definitely has staying power. The only downside is that it’s extremely sticky!
The third item was nail polish from Trust Fund Beauty, in Elegantly Wasted. Let me start by saying I LOVE the name of the company and the color. Since you can’t tell by the name it’s a light purple color. I like the formula; I just wish I liked the color more.
The fourth item was from eco-beauty and it was a night cream. I really, really loved this moisturizer. I was sad I missed their sale on it, as I’ve been looking to overhaul my skin regiment and this is on the list of things to buy full size!
The fifth and last item in my bag was Doucce ultra precision eyeliner in black. It’s a pencil but it goes on really smooth and creamy. It’s great for creating a smudged, smoky look.
Overall I was extremely happy with my August bag from ipsy. If you have been thinking about getting a subscription I would highly recommend it. I’ve linked all the products to their websites and if you have any questions feel free to leave them below, in the comments.
