Gray T-Shirt Dress

Y'all! I am so excited!!
Tomorrow we are finally getting the heck outta Florida! This year was supposed to be a big year. I big year of travel, weddings, celebrations and so much more. Covid-19 however, had other plans.
Tomorrow we are finally going on a little trip though and I am SO excited!
Don't worry we are being super cautious and just going on a little road trip to NC and staying at a friends parents second home. We understand that the virus is still very real and not slowing down any time soon. We have seen all these people at some point over the last month so we feel pretty safe.

Now that I've shared that with y'all, lets move on to today's outfit.
This is the perfect little t-shirt dress. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. I usually stay away from gray because of sweat but I just couldn't pass this little guy up!
It's so freaking soft and just perfect for lounging around or running errands. I sized up to a large so it was a little more oversized.
This is honestly one of my go-to outfits with my favorite white sneakers and black aviators. You really can't go wrong!

Dress: Parkside Harbor | Shoes: Nike | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunnies: Quay Australia currently BOGO!!! | Watch Band: Amazon | Lips: MAC Cosmetics Satin Lipstick in Twig wth Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in Pillow Talk on top

What are everyone's plans for the fourth? We will obviously be in NC and have some really fun stuff planned. I'll share more about it in Thursday's blog post and potentially do a full recap sometime in the next week or two.

Friday 5: Summer Skin Care

Happy Friday!
Summer is in full swing down here in Florida! (Along with coronavirus. Eyeroll emoji!)
Today I wanted to share 5 of my Summer must haves in the beauty department.
It was really hard to pick just 5 and I've honestly already started a second list so look for that soon.
For now let's talk about these 5!

I cut my hair short (by my standards) a few weeks ago and have been obsessed with texture spray since. I have always loved this stuff, but I have recently become even more obsessed. It's really hard for my hair to hold a curl in the heat. Rather than weighing my hair down with tons of product I've been using texture spray. If the curl holds that's great. If not I'm still left with some decent volume and a messy look.
This stuff also smells AMAZING!

This stuff is so amazing and the price point is even better. We always have at least 2-3 tubes of this in our house. ( I always have one in my beach    bag and one on hand for J to take with him to jobs.) I always feel like sunscreen starts to sting my face when I sweat or get in the salt water. I have never had that happen with this. 10/10 recommend!

This is such a great brand of sunscreen. I actually tried them out a few years ago with and SPF setting spray. I loved the setting spray so much I decided to try out their sunscreen. I really like the spray version and they have a bunch of other fun sun products.
It's also clean at Sephora which is always a plus.

This is one of my favorite "foundations" of all time! I love it all year, but especially in the summer. Let me start with the fact that it's actually not a foundation... it's a CC cream. I feel like it's easy to forget that because the coverage this product gives is incredible. It does however, live up to it's name of being a CC cream because it feels really lightweight on your skin. Does that make sense? I don't know, but you need to try this stuff. I put it on by itself if I'm running out on a Saturday or for a beach/pool day where I want to look a little put together. It also has SPF 50 which is AMAZING!
(I wear shade medium and use this brush)

This is probably my favorite product on this list! If you buy one thing let it be this! It's a little pricey for sunscreen, but I promise it's worth it. I bought it through J's health's savings account last year because we had to spend the money and I am so thankful I did because this stuff is holy grail! It goes on so nice and does not leave any oily residue at all! Part of the reason I hate sunscreen is because I always feel so oily and sticky after. Not with this stuff! Rub it in, wait a few minutes, and you are good to go!
Do yourself a favor and treat yo'self to a tube of it! (I buy it during the Sephora sale now!)

What are your summer must have skin/hair care products? I would love to hear about them. Like I said above I have already started a second list. Maybe I will share those in a couple weeks!

Summer 2020 Uniform

Give me all the white tops and denim bottoms!
That has been my go-to lately. I can't stop wearing it. (When I actually put on real clothes.)
I will be sharing a couple variations of this outfit over the next few weeks, but let's talk about this one for now.
This top is AMAZING! I love how oversized it is. The little wordmark in the corner says "FEISTY" which totally fits my personality. I want to get a few more and cut them similar to this Free People tee. (I got the idea from Little Blonde Book. She has a tutorial on her IG.)
I also LOVEEEE these shorts. They are high-waisted but also a really good length. I feel like it can be hard to find high-waisted shorts that don't have your butt hanging out. I sized up one size so they are a bit looser. That's what I usually do with my shorts.
Then I topped it off with this awesome hat and my new favorite sunnies. Perfect summer look in my opinion!

Top: Aerie (also love this Free People one) | Shorts: American Eagle | Hat: Sun Honey Sold out, but restock coming soon. | Sunnies: Quay Australia | Shoes: Steve Madden | Initial Necklace: Amazon | Other Necklace: Bryan Anthony's | Lips: NARS Afterglow Lip Balm in Orgasm
What's your go-to look in the summer? I love an easy dress or romper, but if I actually want to put in effort I will reach for white and denim.

Vici Picks

So y'all have probably heard of Vici before.
They are quickly becoming one of my favorite retailers. They have so many cute pieces. The only downside is they sell out SUPER fast. If you are even thinking you want something just buy it ASAP!
Today I pulled together some of my favorite pieces from them. I did pull one or two out of stock items, but you can sign up for email notifications when that item is back in stock. I have almost always gotten an email when I do this.
I love these! They are sold out in almost all sizes but sign up for email notifications!
Size down!!! I got a medium and definitely could have done a small.
I pre-ordered this and cannot wait for it to come in!
I love this dress!
I also pre-ordered this t-shirt! I have another one that is exactly the same just a different print and love it!
I am obsessed with this! I need to order it!

These are just a few things I currently have and love or are in my cart. They get new arrivals all the time so make sure you check their site frequently too!

Summer Bodysuit

Hey friends!
I'm so excited to share an outfit post with y'all today! It's been too long.
My love for bodysuits strikes again.
I used to love them back in college and then somehow got away from them.
Last summer I bought so many and just haven't stopped.
I was with my friend at market when she bought this for her boutique and knew it needed a home in my closet.
I love everything about it. The color is so pretty. It's kind of a charcoal which can be a nice alternative from my favorite color (black) in the summer. It's also ribbed!! I've really found myself drawn to ribbed pieces the last few months when normally I would shy away from them. I also love the dainty double straps. (They're adjustable which is also a plus!)
I did more of a date night look here with high-waisted denim and heels. You could also pair it with cutoff shorts and flats for a more casual day look! This is definitely a must have piece for your summer wardrobe!

Bodysuit: Parkside Harbor (use code KATIE20 for 20% off your purchase) | Denim: Old Navy | Shoes: Lulu's | Lips: NARS Afterglow Lip Balm in Orgasm | Necklace: Bryan Anthony's | Sunnies: Quay Australia

How is everyone doing? Are things opening up in your state? We are in phase 2 where I live, but there have been some pretty big breakouts in the bars and restaurants around my house so I think we are going back to major self quarantine!
I hope you have a great Tuesday and an even better week!
Thanks for stopping by.

Time for a Change

Hi friends!
It feels so good to be back even though this past week was a much needed break.
I muted on my blog and my social channels to give BIPOC voices the platform they deserve!
I didn't post too many things on social, but I want you to know there was so much going on behind the scenes to make me a better ally to the Black community. This past week was honestly SUPER eye opening. I listened to podcasts, watched documentaries, had conversations with friends, diversified my feed, looked into organizations to donate to (that I will be donating to by weeks end), challenged myself/thoughts and so much more. I did all of these things to make myself a better ally and to fight to make our country equally just! It wasn't always comfortable, but things need to get uncomfortable for there to be change!
It's such a pivotal time in our country and I hope to be even a small part of a BIG revolution.
As we get back to "normal" content and posting, I want you to know that things will never be "normal" in the way that we knew it to be. 2020 has been such a wild ride. While I will share some things on social media I want you to know there is still so much going on offline. There has to be a change in this country and if I have learned anything this week it's that all lives can't matter until Black lives matter and I am here to make sure that happens!

I had actually planned to share an outfit, but after writing how I feel that doesn't feel right.
Instead I will make this a resource blog post.
I'll share some things that have been helpful in the last week as well as new content creators I have discovered.

She is a new follow for me, but I am obsessed!! She has the cutest family and is due literally any day with baby boy number 4!!!
Another new follow for me. I LOVE her neutral style! Seriously want all of her outfits hanging in my closet!
This girl is literally the freaking cutest!! Been following her for a while too. I love her Q&A videos!

There are so many other good resources out there. I will make it a point to continue to update this post. If you follow me on instagram I will let you know when I do and share more info there.
