Cashmere

Hey lovelies!
TG it’s almost the weekend!
Today I’m talking to y’all about my newfound love of cashmere.
I remember when I was a little girl my mom talking about how soft cashmere was. How cashmere sweaters were great for the cold NC winters. (Before global warming.)
This year I got my first cashmere sweater and I finally understand what my momma was talking about all those years ago. It’s literally the softest thing I have ever felt, and oh so warm. I layered it with just a tank one day while visiting NC and I didn’t even need a jacket.
This one is currently on sale with additional off!! I have linked it along with some others that I love. I know it may be hard to think about cashmere with spring right around the corner; however now is the time to buy and put away for next year. These prices are unbeatable.

Sweater: Dillard's (also love this & this) | Jeans: Old Navy | Shoes: Steve Madden (I also own Citron and Sand Suede.) | Earrings: BaubleBar | Lipstick: Sephora Lip Stain in Black Cherry | Nail Polish: Essie in Bikini So Teeny

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! It’s Gasparilla in Tampa and J is coming for the first time!! I’m so excited to take him to the parade and show him all the shenanigans this weekend entails!

P.S. This would be such a cute and casual Valentine's Day look.

Winter Wear

Happy hump day!
I can’t believe it’s almost February and that it’s still 80 degrees almost every day here in Florida. Since this should be the coldest time of year for us I wanted to share some winter outfits with y’all over the next couple weeks.

I actually wore this while visiting my family in NC over Christmas but, it works for the transitional time of year. Vests are great because they provide a decent amount of warmth and you won’t be as hot as you would be if you were wearing a coat. (I was sweating when my mom and I decided to visit museums this day.)
The main thing I love about this look is the way all the colors work so well together. I know white denim is supposed to be a NO-NO after Labor Day, however I think with the right pieces it can work year round. To me the white denim is what actually pulls all these colors together, and makes the outfit read vey wintery.

Sweater: H&M last year (similar herehere & here) | Jeans: Lulus old (similar here own and love these) | Vest: Forever 21 old (similar herehere love this) | Boots: Steve Madden last year (this year's identical version here) | Sunnies: Ray Ban | Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim | Necklace: Forever 21 old (similar here & here) | Lipstick: Mac in Invite Intrigue with Too Faced Melted in Dream House layered on top

What’s the weather like where you live? I hope we get a little more cold weather before “spring” (aka summer) arrives here in Florida.

As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Happy 2017...finally

Happy New Year…finally!
I’m so sorry it has taken me this long to get my first post up for 2017.
I needed to take the time today to reflect on 2016, talk a little about my 4-month hiatus, and some goals I have for 2017.
2016 was pretty uneventful, until about the last 4 months. At the end of August some not so great things started happening in my life, which is why I took a break from blogging. I needed to focus on myself and really took time to think and reflect about what I wanted for my life. I have definitely made some pretty big life decision in the last few months and can’t wait to share more of that with y’all over next couple months.
After all of that started coming together my car completely died on me the day before Thanksgiving.
The good news; I got a brand new car out of it. However, when something like that happens unexpectedly, it can be very STRESSFUL!
I am so thankful for my family, my boyfriend, his family and all of my friends for getting me through these last few months. I can’t say 2016 was the best year (it did have some pretty big shoes to fill from the prior 2 years) but I am glad in the last month or 2 it ended on a high note.
Looking forward to 2017 and I’m pretty excited. I know there will be some big changes, some possible challenges, and so much more.  I am so ready to take on all of those changes that are starting to take place in my life.  I can’t elaborate much on all of that right now, but stay tuned. It’s coming soon.
Another goal I have for this year is growing this little space of mine. I really want to make blogging more of a priority. I love doing this but I so easily throw it on the back burner. I am going to make an extremely conscious effort to make this a priority.
I also hope 2017 brings me travel. I went to Jamaica in 2016 and it definitely gave me the travel bug. I have always had a million places in mind that I want to visit. I especially have always wanted to go abroad and going to Jamaica made me realize I need to make these dreams a reality.

What are some of your goals for 2017? I would love to hear about them in the comments below.
