Free People Dupe

I can't believe Summer is winding down.
We still have a few more weeks, but the unofficial end to Summer is Labor Day.
While it's sill 10000 degrees out I wanted to share this dress with y'all.
It would even be perfect for any Labor Day plans you might have this weekend.
When I first saw this dress I got total Free People vibes.
(I even found a dress later that was Free People and looked identical.)
I love the ruffle detail at the bottom and when I saw the back I was completely sold.
I originally bought this for our Mexico trip, but never got the chance to wear it. (Over-packer probs.)
I decided to keep it though because I think it would be perfect for a date night here in Florida.
Now let's get to the best part. Would you believe me if I told you this dress is under $40?
Well it is and it comes in a TON of different color options. You can even have it before the weekend.
I honestly want to order it in a few other colors.

I do want to talk about sizing for a minute because some of the reviews can be a little confusing. I went with my normal size medium. When I first put it on I thought it was HUGE because it went below my butt. However, there's a drawstring tie so you can make it tight. I think some people miss that in the reviews. I know I did at first.
All that to say I would stick with your normal size.

Shop Small Transitional Outfit

It's definitely still a million degrees, but I think a lot of people have Fall on their mind.
That means it's time to start shopping for Fall outfits.
Today I'm sharing a great outfit that you can wear now and later.
The best part is the entire thing (except my shoes and sunnies) are from small businesses.
So I gotta start by telling you that I love each of these pieces on their own. Put them all together and I am even more obsessed. I seriously would wear this outfit every day if that was acceptable.
My jacket and bike shorts are from one of my favorite boutiques. I love that the jacket is cropped and the star detail if to die for.
Let's talk about the shorts for a second as well.
The photos don't do them justice, but they are a faux leather. They honestly look just like the Spanx leather leggings everyone loves. Living in FL you bet I will get my use out of these.
And now a moment for my t-shirt. How freaking cute is it?!
The sweetest gal on Instagram reached out and sent me a couple of her tees and sweatshirts and I'm absolutely obsessed.
The shirt itself is so freaking soft, which is always a win. I did size up to a large so that I could tie it like I did in the photos. I easily could have taken my normal medium though.
Definitely check her out. She is always added new graphics and recently added hats.
I of course pulled my entire look together with my favorite white Nikes.

Aerie Matching Set

 Happy Thursday!
Today I am off to... Palm Springs!!
In honor of that I thought I would share one of my favorite travel outfits with y'all. (I haven't actually worn this exact outfit on at least 3 flights this year.)
I am obsessed with all things Aerie and this set is no exception.
The leggings really suck you in, but are still super comfortable.
This long sports bra is also great because I feel like I could totally do a low impact workout in it. Although I usually just stick to travel with these pieces and not the gym.
If you are in the market for any type of workout gear or lounge wear Aerie is where you need to go.
I own so many things from there and love all so much, buttttt this set might take the cake. I actually need to buy another.

What are your plans this weekend? I am so excited to spend the weekend in Palm Springs for my friends bachelorette party. If you have been before please leave any recs in the comments below.
I hope y'all have a great Thursday/Friday and an even better weekend!

Hot Child in the City

I shared my favorite way to stay cool in the sweltering heat last Thursday.
I thought I would share another dress that is great for staying cool today and where I find a lot of these dresses. (Hint: If you read last weeks post you might already know.)
I actually picked up this dress while I was in NYC earlier this Summer.
There was a TERRIBLE heat wave and I was literally looking for anything that would keep me cool.
This dress seems like it would be really hot because there is so much fabric, but it really isn't. It's also black which I know some people say to stay away from when it's hot. However, y'all know I love black and even in the Summer I find myself gravitating to it. (It definitely hides the sweat.)
The thing that really sold me was the lace-up back. I feel like an open back always helps beat the heat.

What are your favorite pieces to wear in the Summer? Do you have any tips for staying cool? I'm heading somewhere VERY HOT on Thursday so I will take any advice. haha

Dog Days of Summer

I feel like we are definitely approaching the "dog days of Summer".
It has been so freaking hot here lately. (The last 2 days have actually been a nice reprieve with it only reaching around 85 degrees.)
With that being said, it's so hard to dress when it's 90+ degrees outside.
So today I'm sharing one of the ways I stay cool when it's that hot!
Maxi dresses.
I know that sounds like a lot of fabric, but I honestly find myself reaching for some type of midi or maxi dress when it's so hot out.
I think all that fabric makes them really flowy and breezy.
I bought this one back in the beginning of Summer and have found myself reaching for it a lot lately.
It's a nice light color and the fabric hides sweat.
I also really love the smock detail at the top. (It also comes with straps if you aren't into the strapless thing.)
I styled it with this wide brim hat because I really feel like I have been hiding from the sun lately. Anything to stay cool.

Dress: H&M | Hat: Lack of Color | Sandals: Tory Burch | Sunnies: Quay Australia | Lips: Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipstick in Sazan Nude with Bobbi Brown Crush Lip Gloss in Free Spirit on top

What are your tricks to staying cool in this heat? Next week I'm heading somewhere that will have highs in the triple digits every day! (Insert the wide-eyed emoji here.) Really open to any suggestions on how to beat that kind of heat.
