Facial with Beautifully Bare

Happy Tuesday friends!
I am so excited for today's blog post. If you follow me on Instagram you may remember about a week and a half ago, I got a facial. My first facial to be exact. Rayanna who used to do my lashes, (she still does my waxing), recently got back into the skincare game. When she asked if I wanted to try out a facial I immediately said YES!!!
Today I'm going to share my full experience with y'all! (Spoiler alert... it was AMAZING!)
Let me start by telling you that Rayanna has moved to a new office and it is so freaking cute! It's the ultimate girly office which in my opinion is exactly what you want when you're going to get pampered with lash extensions, a facial or anything like that.
We always start out appointments catching up and then she walks me through what we'll be doing. This visit she told me all about the facial, and that she would be doing a microdermabrasion, if my skin could handle it. When she said this I got a little nervous. I immediately had images of Samantha from Sex in the City!!
Image via Instyle
When I told Rayanna this she started laughing and she promised that would not happen in the slightest! Once I got over my fear she left the room so I could change into a little robe and get on the heated table under a sheet. (If you've never had a facial think of a similar situation as when you get a massage.)
Once Rayanna came back she put a wrap around my hair and got to work.
She starts each facial with a skin analysis. This helps her determine the thickness/thinness of your skin. (This is especially important if you are getting a microdermabrasion because it will help her determine if your skin can handle it.)
After that is done she turns on a steamer and starts to steam your face. This helps to really open your pores, so when she cleanses your skin, all the dirt really comes out. (Side note: Since she does cleanse your skin you can wear any products & makeup that you want. I didn't because I wasn't sure and I wasn't really doing anything earlier in the day. This is a good thing to know in case you are getting a facial after work so you can wear makeup to the office.)
Rayanna gets your skin nice and clean by doing a double cleanse. The first one is just a surface cleanse and the second one is more of a deep cleanse. Again, really working to get all the dirt and grim off your skin. This was probably my favorite part of the facial. I never knew how relaxing it could be to have someone else wash your face. Forget a glam squad... I want someone that will wash my face every morning and every night! haha
After your skin is double cleansed it's time for Rayanna to go over your skin with the ultrasonic. This is essentially a skin scrubber/scrapper and makes sure everything gets out of your pores through vibration. This is really hard to explain as far as feeling goes. It doesn't hurt in the slightest and it just feels like she is rubbing some type of tool over your face. Again really hard to explain. Just know it doesn't hurt. I feel like that's always the most important thing in beauty treatments.
After that if you choose to get a microdermabrasion it's show time!! (This is an add on for facials and again will depend on your skin and any past medical history.)
Rayanna had me feel my nose and chin before she started everything and then after she was done. My skin on my nose was so rough and it felt like there was a ton of dead skin. After she was done it was so so smooth. This was due to the microdermabrasion. It really helps with any congested areas. The treatment itself is basically a suction tool she runs over all the areas of your face and décoretage 2-3 times. (She also showed me the filter after and it was not pretty. haha Just keeping it real for y'all.)
After that it's time for masks. The first one is a Vitamin C enzyme mask. This starts with steam as well because it needs the steam to stimulate the enzymes. This one is active and the enzymes eat away all your dead skin cells. After this one works it's magic it's time for a balancing gel mask. This one sits on your skin for about 10-15 minutes and Rayanna gives you a hand and arm massage. (It felt amazing. She was also the first person to ever give me a massage and tell me that I felt relaxed. Normally the massage therapist say relax and when I say that I am they reply with NO! You are not!)
Once the mask has sat long enough she wipes it off and finishes the facial with a serum, SPF moisturizer and a lip treatment. Once all of that is applied you finally get to see your beautifully glowing skin! (Check out my smile in the after pictures below.) This is also when she let me touch my nose and I could feel such a HUGE difference.
Afterwards Rayanna went over aftercare with me. This is very important especially if you get a microdermabrasion.
Aftercare:
1. Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours.
2. Avoid any serums/creams/moisturizers/etc. that contain acids for 48 hours.
3. Make sure to use SPF (more than just what's in your makeup like I normally think is fine) to avoid hyperpigmentation and burns.
4. Makeup and normal cleansing is fine.

Facials just might be my new favorite thing! I can't wait for my next one. Rayanna decided to do a 3 series facial on me to help with the congestion on my nose and chin. It's been about a week and a half and my skin still feels really clear.
Check out my before and after pics below!

If you are in the Jacksonville area I cannot recommend Rayanna enough if you need a facialist. If you've never had one you definitely need to check her out!! (She's also a great lash artist and awesome at waxing.)  You can use code "KATIE10" for $10 off any service too.

Set of Stripes

Two piece sets are getting more and more popular. I really like them but, I'm also really picky about the ones I like. My first criteria is that there can only be a tiny amount of midriff exposed. My second criteria, although not a complete deal breaker, is that the bottoms must be high waisted! (My upper "abs" are a little more toned so I don't mind those showing as much. haha)
When I saw this cute little set on another blogger I just had to have it! I mean it's blue and white stripes so there was no way I could pass it up. I also love all the ruffles on the top and waist. The best part is that 0% of my midriff has to show. I wore it on my birthday and got so many compliments. A bunch of my friends also thought it was a romper since you can't see my stomach.
I did size up to a large, but probably could have done a medium. (I'm always a little iffy on shorts from amazon.)

2-Piece Set: Amazon | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff color no longer available (similar option here) | Sunnies: Quay Australia | Shoes: Steve Madden old (similar here & here) | Lipstick: Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in Mr. Lover
Is everyone else as happy as I am that it's Thursday??
I can't wait for the weekend. I think we are going to see Lion King tomorrow. (Although can we talk about how expensive movie tickets are?!? It's $40 for me and J and that's before snacks. Looks like I'll be bringing my big purse with Dollar Store snacks. haha)
Saturday we are going to tux shopping for the wedding Our 2 best friends are tagging along and we are gonna grab lunch and make a whole day out of it.
What are your plans for the weekend? Have you seen Lion King? Is it worth the $40? haha
I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for reading!

(I'm not 100% sure of the time but I know it's very soon.) I've covered my first pass at the sale, beauty buys, and home picks so today I wanted to show you my favorite workout pieces.
I think most of these pieces are still in stock and I'm obviously crossing my fingers for restocks when the sale goes public. Make sure to reference all my post when you start shopping and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. (I realized I haven't been including sizing reference so if you have any questions please message or DM me!)

These were my favorite workout pieces from the sale!

Shoes: Adidas (similar here)

Other pieces I love:

Nsale Home Picks 2019

Happy hump day friends!
I'm back with more Nsale coverage. Today I rounded up my top home picks. All these items are still in stock. If you can shop early access I suggest buying any last minute things you have your eye on by tomorrow. The sale opens to everyone on Friday and things will go QUICK!!! I'm not sure if they will be doing restocks this year or not. I will definitely keep my eye out and let you know. I also plan to have a post on Friday of all things still available from the sale that I think are worth the buy. This should help all you gals that didn't have early access. (And don't worry there are still plenty of great options available even if they don't restock.)
For now you can see my home picks below. (I had way too much fun picking these things. I also now want to add all these items to my registry. haha)

(Seriously the softest thing you have ever felt.)
(Saw this on A Spoonful of Style's Instagram with the other 2 sizes and fell in love!!)
(So cute for your dining room table.)
(So cute and would make a great gift!)
(Comes in a bunch of color options. So cute, but not overly girly.)
(I have a very similar one on my registry. It's so cute and would look good on a bar cart or the counter.)
(Who doesn't love cheese? These will make you look super fancy at your next party.)
(These are so cute!)
(I love this. I have a similar one on my registry too.)
(This looks so soft & is such a good price. I definitely will be picking this up.)
(This would make a great gift. It would also look great on your own bar cart!)
(This is my favorite candle. It's also a big version. I will definitely be picking one of these bad boys up. It's only $25 more than the standard size during the sale but it's more than double the size.)

Bridal Shower Dress

Happy Tuesday!
I wanted to take a little break from Nsale coverage today and share this dress with y'all. I've been wanting to share it for a while because Vici Dolls always sells out super fast, but I have just been so dang busy.
The good news is it's still available in size small and you can sign up for email notifications for the other sizes.
I first saw this dress on Styled Snapshots Instagram and knew I just had to have it. (I've always been a sucker for white, but now that I need options for bridal showers, my bachelorette party, etc. I have been going crazy with the white outfits.
This dress is a little outside my comfort zone since it's so fitted. I usually shy away from fitted dresses because I have pretty curvy hips. However, I've been trying to challenge myself to embrace my curves and reach for fitted dresses from time to time. My tip for making myself feel comfortable is going up a size. I'm usually a medium, but opted for the large so that it wouldn't be too tight. (This is especially important if the garment is a lighter color. Black you should be ok to choose your regular size.)
I'm obsessed with this dress and can't wait to wear it to my bridal shower. I love that it's slightly sexy with the fit, slit, and cut-out, but I won't feel uncomfortable wearing it around my family at the shower.

Dress: Vici Dolls | Shoes: Target | Sunnies: Old (similar here & here)
I would have accessorized with these earrings if I wasn't in the biggest hurry and layered a different outfit over this one. haha
What are your trouble areas when picking out clothes? I challenge you to embrace whatever your hang-ups are and pick something outside your comfort zone in the near future. One thing I have always thought to be true is that anyone can wear anything as long as it fits right. So embrace your butt, arms, stomach, thighs, whatever it is and rock something you like but normally wouldn't.

Nsale 2019 Beauty Buys

Today I'm sharing my #Nsale Beauty picks. The best news is that all of them are still in stock. The beauty buys never seem to go as quickly as the apparel, but that doesn't mean there aren't good deals in this category. Check out my favorites below.
(I've heard so many good things about this color! Definitely think I need to try it out.)
(I LOVE this sunscreen!!)
(I love Drybar products and the packaging is too cute!)
(I can't wear perfume, but if I could I would wear this one.)
(I love this eyeliner and have been wanting to try the shadow. I will be picking this up ASAP!)
(I've seen this on so many instastories I am surprised it's still in stock. I'm a huge fan of Mac lip products so I highly suggest this.)
(This stuff is awesome and a great price!)
(Used the setting spray and primer before and LOVE it. The primer is perfect to throw on when you are running errands on Saturday and don't want to wear makeup. I just put on my serum and that and go out the door!)
(These look like great colors for Fall/Winter)
(My mom uses this stuff and swears it's the best. I'll take her word for it and try it out. You should too. She's picky about her skincare... especially moisturizers.)
(Great for the guy in your life.)
