Wedding Wednesday: How I asked my Bridesmaids

Happy Wednesday friends!
I finally have a new wedding Wednesday for you. (It’s been so long since the last one.)
I’ve been meaning to get this one up for a while and have just been so busy. It is no joke when you have a full time job, blog on the side and try to plan a wedding. If I don’t master time management this year I don’t think I ever will.
Anyway, today I’m sharing with y’all how I asked my bridesmaids to be my bridesmaids! (And Man of Honor)
This was one of the first things I did as far as wedding planning. I’ve known who I would ask for years now! I knew when I asked I wanted to make a little box for them since they will be doing so much for me over the next year.
I started looking on Etsy for “bridesmaid boxes” but couldn’t find anything I loved. After searching for a while I decided to make my own box. I started with drinkware. I feel like drinkware is pretty standard and with good reason. A photographer told my friend once cups are a great gift so you have cute cups in your photos instead of a giant McDonald’s cup. (No offense McDonald’s.)
Next I knew I wanted a piece of jewelry. Most of my friends already have bar necklaces with their initial and I wasn’t feeling earrings so I decided on a bracelet. As soon as I saw the knotted bracelet I knew it would be perfect. They also came on cute cards that said, “I can’t tie the knot without you.” (I didn’t think my man of honor would want a bracelet so I opted for cufflinks instead. It can also be nice to differentiate your maid of honor.)
The last part was the champagne since we were obviously celebrating. I got each of them a split of champagne as a little extra touch. (If you are shipping your boxes I would recommend cans of champagne of rosé. I thought I was going to have to ship my Man of Honor’s so I got a can of rosé. I’ve had friends get broken boxes many times in the past.)
After I had all the gifts picked out I found cute cards on etsy and ordered different ones for each person. I tried to pick ones that fit their personality/our friendship.
Finally, let’s talk about the actual box!  These can actually be really pricey. I eventually found photo boxes at Michael’s and just ordered each persons name in gold vinyl to put on the front. Then to make the inside extra cute, I got white and pink paper shreds to place on the bottom. Viola! Cute little bridesmaid box for all my friends.
I was lucky enough to hand deliver each one and all my friends were thrilled and loved all the things! I can’t wait for them to stand next to me on my big day and all the fun things we get to do leading up to it.

Here’s all the links for everything I used.
(They made me a custom card! They were so sweet & helpful.)
(This shop has a TON of cards! And they are all so cute!)
(This shop has so many different options!)
The shop I bought my vinyl names from is no longer on Easy. I've bought from this one before though and they were great!
(Total Wine has a lot of different options. Lots of can options too!)
How did you ask your bridesmaids? I’d love to hear in the comments below.

I Wear my Sunglasses at Night

But really I wear my sunglasses during the day. haha
I've been called out more than a few times for ALWAYS wearing sunglasses by friends & followers alike. Since today I've rounded up my favorite sunglasses I will let you in on my little secret as to why I'm always wearing sunglasses.
As a blogger I'm always taking photos. If you've ever taken a dozen or more photos at a time you know that out of all those photos there's only a handful of good ones. Add in your eyes being closed or being mid blink and your pool of photos gets even smaller. However, if you wear sunglasses though no one has any idea if your eyes as closed in that photo! Boom! You're photo options just went up. haha
So there you have it... the answer to why I'm always wearing sunglasses!
Anyway, if you're in need of some new sunnies I've rounded up a bunch at all different price points!
Happy shopping!
(Have these in white and I love them. If you want the real version you can shop them here)
(LOVE these! And only $16)
(Might have to pick these up on my next Target run)
(these are such a classic)

Spring Stripes

Today I want to share one of my favorite pieces for this time of the year. I love cute little short sleeve button up tops. The reason I love these so much is because they can be worn a variety of ways. They look nice with jeans or pants for the office and then on the weekends you can pair them with shorts & flip flops for a laid back style. You can also wear them unbuttoned with shorts over your bathing suit or tied up with high waisted shorts. They are really a versatile piece.  Styling Tip: Since these tend to be boxier pieces, make sure you pair it with something more fitted.
I picked this cute striped one up from Forever 21 a few weeks ago. (I saw this as I was walking through to the main mall area, which was great because I feel like I never have luck at Forever21 anymore.)  It’s also available online in all sizes which is great news for y’all! I got soooo many compliments on this shirt when I wore it on Saturday.

Top: Forever21 | Shorts: Target old (similar here, here & love this brand) | Slides: Steve Madden | Purse: Amazon | Sunnies: Ray-ban | Lipstick: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Primrose | Watch Band: Amazon

What are your favorite pieces for this time of year? Do you love versatile pieces as much as me? I’d love to hear what you are looking for as far as clothing goes right now. It can be such a tricky time to shop.

Midi Summer Dream

Happy Thursday! Almost the weekend!!
Today I have a spring/summer dress to share with y’all. It was another pretty cold day here in Florida. However, knowing I’ll be able to wear this dress this weekend makes me feel better. (I shouldn’t complain because soon it will be 90 degrees with 90% humidity.)
I saw this dress last summer and never got around to buying it. I saw it on sale New Year’s Day when I was shopping their big sale and it was 40% off with another 40% off!!! I totally regret not buying the other 2 colors. This dress is easily going to be my go-to dress on weekends this summer. (It’s WAAYYYY to low to be work appropriate or else I’d wear it every day!)
It’s an amazing gauzy cotton material that is perfect on those really hot days. It’s really breezy and flowy, but you can also unbutton a button or two at the bottom and make it even flowier. (It would also make a cute coverup or paired with shorts if you undid most of the buttons. Maybe I’ll style it that way in a couple weeks and show y’all.)
Pair it with your favorite flats and cute summer bag and you’re good to go. My flats & bag are from last year, but still available. I love when I can give y’all a fully shoppable/available outfit!

Dress: Free People | Purse: Amazon | Flats: Steve Madden | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Earrings: Target (I can't find them online :( here's a similar pair in color) | Lipstick: MAC Cosmetics Amplified Lipstick in Blankety | Apple Watch Band: Amazon

What are your plans this weekend? We have a party bus tomorrow night with a bunch of friends and Sunday I’m taking my mom to brunch for her birthday! I hope y’all have a great weekend filled with lots of fun/relaxing activities!

Spring? Is that you?

It’s kind of ironic that I shot spring content this weekend to share with y’all because today feels like the farthest thing from springtime! It’s literally 48 degrees right now as I write this. The good news, if it’s still this cold where you are, today’s sweater is still relevant. I styled it with jeans and a tank for a spring look however; you could easily layer it on top of a long sleeve and be really warm. This sweater is not only the softest thing ever (I wish y’all could feel it), but also the warmest thing EVER. I wore it to work a couple weeks ago and was sweating!! (I never sweat in my office because they keep it at 65 degrees!! Not that day.)
I love this color paired with all white, but you could rock it with black or blue denim as well. It also makes a great lounge piece for around the house since it’s so soft and cozy. Or with leggings while running errands. Basically you will wear this ALL of the time!
It comes in a couple other colors, however they are all becoming harder and harder to find since we are hopefully leaving winter behind. You should definitely scoop one up if you haven’t already!

Sweater: Free People | Tank: Topshop old (just bought this one) | Jeans: Old Navy | Shoes: Steve Madden | Sunnies: Quay Australia | Lipstick: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Disobedient

Are you ready for spring? I have a great dress I will be sharing with y’all on Thursday that is perfect for the upcoming season. See y’all then. As always, thanks for stopping by.
