Turkey Day Dress

I keep talking about how close Thanksgiving is and this weekend I realized I haven’t shared any Thanksgiving outfit inspo! What the heck is wrong with me? Don’t worry though, I finally shot a great Thanksgiving look this weekend. I also went through recent posts and rounded up some other great options depending on your families Thanksgiving style.
Ok, now before you think I’m crazy for showing you a form fitting dress for Thanksgiving (one of the biggest eating days of the year) hear me out! This dress is form fitting but it’s so comfortable and stretchy it won’t make you feel constricted at all. Plus the ruching is really flattering and will hide any potential food babies. I paired it with OTK boots and this cozy sweater for a nice fall look. This sweater is also great for hiding food babies or snuggling on the couch for a nice turkey induced coma.
Since these boots have a chunky not too high heel this could easily take you into black Friday shopping as well. I’m more of a leggings and t-shirt kind of gal for that mess, but sometimes things come up last minute.
I’ve linked some recent blog posts herehere, & here that would make great Thanksgiving outfits as well!

What are your plans for the big day? Do you have any traditions? I would love to hear about them in the comments.
J and I are running a turkey trot in the morning, (I can’t believe I convinced him to sign up.) then heading to a big block party at a local bar (sounds weird but it’s a huge tradition around here) and after that finally heading to J’s parents to cook and spend the day. I also think I’ll be doing some black Friday shopping this year. The past few year’s I’ve gone out in the afternoon just to check some things out, but J has his eye on a new TV this year so looks like we will be heading to the stores early. Not gonna lie… I kinda love black Friday.

California Dreaming

Y’all!!
How are there only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving?! My mind if literally blown! It feels like yesterday was June 1st.  I’m excited for the holiday’s but I wish time would just slow down. It’s going to be 2019 before we know it!
Today I’m sharing my last outfit from California with y’all! (Don’t worry. I’m still working on my travel diaries. I’m hoping to have one up next week!)
This outfit is super causal and I honestly loved it so much! This jean jacket is my absolute favorite. I love the pearl detail and how oversized it is. Since it is so oversized I like to pair it with more fitted items so it doesn’t swallow me. We were just going to grab coffee so I threw on leggings and this stripe tee. This stripe tee is a little loose/big so I tied it on the side. (Can you tell I’m a fan of tying everything? haha)

This would be a great outfit for traveling over the holidays or for black Friday shopping. Very casual but still a little styled. I will probably be wearing this every Saturday when it cools down for good here.

Falling for Rust

Hi friends!
Happy Election Day! Did y’all get out and vote? I finally made it out after work.
Enough about voting though, let’s talk about this dress. I almost didn’t share this on the blog because I know this particular color is almost sold out, but it’s available in another color in all sizes. Plus there are so many other great things about this dress. First of all I do love the color. It’s perfect for fall. I’ve actually found myself really gravitating towards rust shades this year. (I’ve linked some other great rust options below.) I also love that it’s such an easy dress to throw on with some booties and head out the door. I’ve already worn it twice and I bought it last Wednesday. It’s that good. You can also wear it tied at the bottom or untied for a more loose fit. I decided to tie mine to give it a little bit of a fitted look. It’s essentially an oversized t-shirt so it can look a little baggy. If the rust color isn’t available in your size I would definitely suggest the blue!  It’s just a great dress!

I want to take a minute and talk about gift guides. I’m going to start putting some together this weekend and wanted to see what y’all want. I know my Gift Guide for Him was one of my most read posts last year so I will definitely be putting that one together. Other than that whom do you need help shopping for? I’m here to help the best I can. Leave a comment below telling me what you want to see.

Cali Girl Style

Happy November! I can’t believe it’s November 1st! Want an even scarier thought? Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away!! It’s crazy!
Anyway, enough about how it’s already November let’s talk about this dress. I originally bought this dress for our engagement party, but I knew I had to take it with me to California the following week as well.  I mean this dress is a total Cali girl dress! The skirt is so effortless and really gives it a cool girl vibe. The eyelet on top makes it really girly and sweet. I also love that the sleeves are longer and you can either button them to keep them long or unbutton them and bunch them up. I will say I was a little worried about the deep V because I do have a bit of a chest. I just wore petals and used double-sided tape to secure it and felt totally comfortable.
Going into fall/winter I know this dress doesn’t totally make sense. However, I do think it would look cute paired with some boots or booties if you do want to transition it. It also comes in black and a rust color that would be so perfect for fall!

Dress: Free People | Shoes: Target | Earrings: Local Boutique (similar herehere, & here) | Sunnies: Lulus | Lipstick: Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm in Super Strawberry

What are everyone’s plans for the weekend? We have like 1000 birthdays to celebrate so that’s basically our plans all weekend. Haha
Thanks for stopping by and reading. I truly appreciate each and every one of you!
