Springtime Suede

Spring is right around the corner. Although the weather kind of says otherwise. 

Anyway, I wanted to start sharing some more Spring inspired outfits with y'all. This one is PERFECT for transitioning from cooler temps. 

Suede jackets are perfect for this time of year. They keep you about as warm as a leather jacket, but are a little softer for Spring. 

This one is super lightweight and I love it. I paired it with my favorite bodysuit from last summer and my new favorite jeans. I added this light colored hat to brighten the color pallet a bit. 

I will probably be wearing a similar variation of this outfit on repeat for the next few weeks. (As long as it warms up. I shot these and then it got real real cold again.)

Spring Metallics

            Happy Thursday

Ugh, I can’t believe it’s only Thursday! I literally thought it was Friday on Tuesday! Needless to say I am so ready for HH tomorrow. 

Anyway, let’s talk about this outfit shall we? It’s been so warm here lately it’s forcing me to transition my wardrobe. I bought this skirt for our engagement shoot in the mountains (seen here) and paired it with a sweater because it was freezing! When I initially bought this skirt I thought it read really wintery/holiday because of the metallic. But the more I thought about it, I realized it also works for spring! I paired it with a white cami and my leather jacket and voila perfect spring transitional outfit! It’s a little edgy for spring with the jacket and boots, but I totally love it! This is a great office outfit or Saturday afternoon/evening getup as well! (You could pair it with heels to dress it up a bit.)

Gingham

Today’s post is short and sweet. I’m talking all about a trend I have been seeing non stop this spring: Gingham.

I’ve seen this trend in skirts, tops, dresses, sets, even shoes. It really is EVERYWHERE! And honestly, I totally understand why; because gingham is a great option for spring! I love the traditional black and white like my dress below but I’ve been seeing lots of colors too. Think light blues, pinks and red. It also comes in a variety of sizes, which I think is also great! It adds versatility to your closet when you can buy a similar print but, in different colors, sizes and silhouettes.  My dress is old; however, I’ve linked lots of my favorite gingham pieces for you below.

Blue Suede Boots

Happy Thursday friends!

I’ve got another transitional friendly outfit for you today. It’s kind of crazy because I feel like we never really get transitional weather. Although I can’t really say the weather has been transitional this week… it’s been down right cold.

Let’s talk about this outfit. I think the boots are my favorite part because I have been looking for a navy pair.  When I saw these were on CRAZY sale, I snatched them up real quick! I also love the shaft height. They aren’t ankle, but they don’t go all the way up to your knees. They work perfectly with dresses for this reason. (Don’t worry they also look good with pants.) The navy has very limited sizes; however, they also come in black, which is available in more sizes.

I paired them with this dress, which is also on sale. I’m not normally a rib knit kind of gal, but for some reason this dress caught my eye. My color isn’t available, however, there are 3 other colors available; and you can get on their wait list for the grey. I might grab the taupe before it sells out; as I can see myself wearing this all spring long.

Pearl Details Part 2

And just like that Mother Nature said, “Not so fast” to warmer temps. (I guess the little groundhog was right about 6 more weeks of winter. Hah)

We got back from Mexico last week to highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s. I’m not complaining though, because I’m not ready to say hello to summer just yet.

Since this is truly transitional weather, this is when pieces like jean jackets come in handy. I’m obsessed with this one, because of all the pearl details. This was a huge trend on jeans this fall, and I love how it translates on jackets as well. I think that this is the perfect piece for spring to throw on with white dresses, floral pieces, and literally anything else you can think of. The pearls truly compliment everything in your spring wardrobe.
