Fall Horizon Maxi

Can you believe fall is on the horizon? I mean we are only a few short days away from August and fall will be here before you know it! 

I personally am totally ready for it. It's been 90+ degrees every day for a while now and I am OVER it! Going outside after 8am means you will be drenched in sweat in a matter of minutes. I am not here for it.

 Today's piece is one of my first transitional pieces of the later half of the year.

This is the perfect flowy maxi dress to wear now while it's 100 degrees and pair with some layering pieces in a couple months when it cools off. 

I think the colors are what really makes this dress a transition piece. The blue is super summery in my opinion. However the brown makes me think of fall. 

I paired it with a pair of sandals to keep things simple here. In October you could add a pair of booties and a suede or denim jacket. The options are really endless.

I'm wearing a medium and honestly wish I'd gotten a small. It does have a tie at the waist which helps it fit a little better. I tied it tight and then pulled some of the fabric up so I could shorten it for the flats.

Are you ready for fall or still soaking up the summer heat? I'm definitely in for a few more pool/beach days, but maybe it could be 78 degrees instead of 91. I don't know. A gal can dream. 

Spring Metallics

            Happy Thursday

Ugh, I can’t believe it’s only Thursday! I literally thought it was Friday on Tuesday! Needless to say I am so ready for HH tomorrow. 

Anyway, let’s talk about this outfit shall we? It’s been so warm here lately it’s forcing me to transition my wardrobe. I bought this skirt for our engagement shoot in the mountains (seen here) and paired it with a sweater because it was freezing! When I initially bought this skirt I thought it read really wintery/holiday because of the metallic. But the more I thought about it, I realized it also works for spring! I paired it with a white cami and my leather jacket and voila perfect spring transitional outfit! It’s a little edgy for spring with the jacket and boots, but I totally love it! This is a great office outfit or Saturday afternoon/evening getup as well! (You could pair it with heels to dress it up a bit.)

Floral Transition

TGIT! (Thank God it's Thursday!)

This week has been pretty long for this gal.

It's also been EXTREMELY hot here in Florida. I'm talking temps in the mid 80's! Like what? It's February. With this heat wave, it has me grabbing for some lighter pieces, but I'm not ready to fully give up my winter wardrobe for spring just yet. This kimono is perfect for this time of year; because the floral print embodies springtime, but the black background lends itself to a more wintery look. Here I paired it with a tank, jeans and fur loafers. However, when the temps really sky rocket I can throw it on with shorts and some espadrilles or sandals. I really love pieces like this because I am not the girl to wear things once. The best part is this kimono is currently on sale. There is also a pair of matching pants (on sale too) that I am thinking about purchasing to try out the full pajama look. Not 100% sure I can pull it off, but we'll see.

How is the weather where you are? I can't believe it's in the 80's here; as it snowed in the mid-west earlier this week. I'm hoping we get a few more cold days before we fully head into spring. I like the cold more than the heat, and that be because I live in FL and its hot 90% of the year.

Transitional

Hi friends!

We are well into September, which means we are all done with summer and ready for fall. (At least this gal is!) While it’s still 90+ degrees, here in Florida, I’m ready for boots and sweaters and this is the perfect transitional outfit. These boots are from last year but there is an almost identical pair here. I love the gold hardware and cutouts. This sweater is a perfect wear now wear later piece. I paired it with jean shorts and a tank here, and when the weather finally gets cooler, it would look just as cute with a striped turtleneck  and denim. In addition, if it’s really cold you can throw on some OTK boots and a fun wool hat.

Transitional Sweater

Happy Friday Eve!

 Almost made it to the weekend and I have the perfect sweater for your weekend plans! I picked this up about 2 weeks ago and I am not kidding when I say I'm OBSSESSED! (I think I've worn it at least 5 times since.) It's perfect for so many reasons. The first is, it's really lightweight, add that to the fact that its neon pink, and it's great for this transitional time of year! Second, it can be dressed up or down, and I’ve worn it to the office but, also on date night. I LOVE when I find pieces that can be worn a multitude of ways for different settings. Lastly, it's on major sale giving you no excuse not to give this pretty sweater a new home.
